About Moira

Hi, I’m Moira – a Psychotherapist, Coach, and Yoga Teacher dedicated to holistic wellbeing.

I’m based in Preston, Lancashire, where I bring together years of professional expertise and personal experience to support others on their journeys. I’m also a mum, stepmum, grandma, wife, daughter, sister, friend, business owner, and, most importantly, myself—a person who values connection, growth, and creating space to breathe. I love yoga, reading, learning, and sharing moments of laughter and curiosity with my family, community, and clients.

Over the years, my personal experiences with bereavement, burnout, feeling stuck, and seeking meaning have shaped not only who I am but also how I work. These challenges sparked a journey of self-discovery and spirituality, leading me to retrain as an integrative psychotherapist and later as a yoga teacher. This evolution reflects my deep belief in the transformative power of integrating the mind, body, and spirit.

My approach is rooted in creating safe, non-judgmental spaces for enquiry, healing, and growth. Drawing from my expertise as a psychotherapist, coach, supervisor, and yoga teacher, I support clients, supervisees, and students to explore their emotions, physical sensations, and thought patterns. Together, we uncover the underlying drivers of behaviour, offering clarity, understanding, and choice. This holistic approach nurtures acceptance, insight, and the potential for lasting transformation.

My professional journey began with over 13 years in senior management within the NHS, where I specialised in managing change, mentoring, and developing services. These experiences taught me the importance of time, empathy, and connection when working with people during transitions. They also inspired my shift toward psychotherapy, a path that allowed me to deepen my focus on the individual stories and challenges of those I work with.

Since qualifying as a psychotherapist in 2014, I’ve worked in diverse roles, including as a therapist, clinical lead, and supervisor in organisations supporting survivors of sexual violence. I’ve provided counselling in schools, women’s centres, and private practice. Today, I continue to offer psychotherapy both in-person and online, helping clients navigate a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, bereavement, and trauma.

Recognising the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and emotional health, I’ve expanded my services to include yoga and essential oils. My weekly yoga classes foster strength, balance, and a deeper connection to self, while my use of dōTERRA essential oils elevates wellbeing in both therapy and yoga settings. This holistic approach creates an opportunity for clients and students to reconnect with their inner selves and cultivate joy, resilience, and harmony.

As someone who has personally experienced the power of integrating body, mind, and spirit, I am passionate about guiding others toward their own sense of wholeness. Whether through psychotherapy, coaching, yoga, or essential oils, my aim is to inspire and support you on your unique journey.

I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and Yoga Alliance.
